Who We Are
The Nelson Early Childhood Advisory Council is committed to the optimal health, wellness and access to opportunities for all young children age 0-6 years and their families. We are committed to creating and sustaining a strong and healthy community by bringing to the forefront our responsibility in caring for our future generation, through education, advocacy and support.
The Council consists of representatives from a number of sectors in the community. These individuals volunteer to sit on the advisory council.

OUR GOALS
- To facilitate and provide a venue for networking opportunities between community members and groups
- to raise public awareness of early childhood development
- To develop community partnerships to improve and enhance service to children and their families
WHAT WE DO
- Provide public education regarding early childhood development (ECD).
- Circulate information in the community regarding ECD.
- Gather information from our community regarding ECD.
- Make recommendations to the provincial government regarding ECD funded programs and services.
- Create opportunities for families to connect and access information.
- Look at research pertaining to ECD in Nelson to help guide our efforts to improve the community.
- Assist in the development of partnerships to create and strengthen services to families.
- Identify early childhood priorities in Nelson.
- Develop strategic plans to ensure the needs of the community are met.
